Gillian McDonagh - percussion
Gillian was born and educated in West Lothian, Scotland where she spent two years at Napier University before moving to London to study at the Royal College of Music. She completed her studies under Robert Van Sice at the Rotterdam Conservatiore.
Since then she has worked as a freelance percussionist, based in London, performing with all the major symphony orchestras, opera and ballet companies and playing for the National Theatre and in the West End. Her early music performances include several seasons at the Shakespear's Globe Theatre. She has also been involved with several innovative chamber ensembles including her own marimba and flute duo 'Aequitas'.
Gillian enjoys being involved in educational projects and has taught both at the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music Junior Departments and is currently a member of the percussion faculty at Trinity College of Music London.
