Emily Robinson
- - baroque 'celloEmily began her studies at London's Royal Academy of Music with teachers Mats Lidstrom and Jennifer Ward-Clark (baroque cello).
In 1998 she moved to The Netherlands to join the class of Jaap ter Linden and has since completed both an unergraduate and postgraduate degree in Historical Performance Practice. She remained in the Hague for six years during which time she founded ensemble Opera Quarta which has been awarded thefirst prizes in two major early music competitions in Italy and Holland. The release of their first CD is expected later this year
In 2004 Emily moved back to the UK and has performed with the Orchestra of the Age of enlightenment, the Academy of Ancient Music, The Sixteen, Concert d'Astree and Capriccciao Stravagante. Emily is also a regular visitor to Iceland where she is the principal cellist in an orchestra founded by students of the Royal Conservatory, The Hague, who frequently collaborate with director Hordur Askelsson and the choir of the Hallgrimskirkja, Reykjavik.
